Horses for Sale in The Plains, Virginia (Scroll down for Equestrian Art!)

All horses currently for sale are by our stallion, Declaration. Please contact us if you are interested in more information, or visit our FAQ page. We adjust prices in response to the training and soundness of our horses -- all of which we make transparent to prospective buyers. If you are interested in one of our horses, call to get the current assessment and check back for updates.

Please also rmember that we offer foals in utero and custom breedings as well. For example, if you see a horse you like that is already sold, chances are we can breed a full sibling for you. We do not breed many horses, even when the results are great, because we want to be able to place them all. So if you want a particular cross, just ask us!

Falcon - Talented Morgan Gelding

Falcon, foaled in 2008, is a bold gelding with extravagant movement and a very good work ethic.  He both rides and drives. Falcon is a full brother to Apollo and Indy pictured below. $7,500.

For Falcon's pedigree, click here: pedigree.

Apollo–A Born Champion

Apollo, foaled in 2011, is a 14.2 H bay gelding by Declaration, out of one of our best Morgan broodmares, Nora (Coachman's Simplistik). He is full brother to Mosswood Falcon, and Selah's declared Revelry ('Indy'). Apollo has a well balanced conformation and an excellent hip and top line. He is sweet tempered, unflappable and blessed with great gaits and a phenomenal work ethic. He is in training with international CDE competitor and trainer, Tracey Morgan. He has been bitted and backed with no issues. Apollo seems to like carriages, people, other horses, and just about everything about life. Tracey rates him "An A+ CDE or pony hunter prospect"! $8,500.

6/1/14 update: Apollo is progressing very well under saddle. His price will increase with further training. Apollo's pedigree is here: pedigree

Starlet - Easy, Kind Athlete

Starlet, foaled in 2009, is a purebred bay Morgan mare by Declaration. She is a wonderful carriage, field hunter, endurance, eventing or dressage prospect. Standing at 15.3 H at four years of age, she has good size and lovely gaits. Her temperament and work ethic are outstanding. Her trainers call her a "dream horse" because she is so much fun and so easy to ride. $5,000. Starlet's pedigree is here: pedigree

Courage of Mosswood

(Declaration X Coachman's Simplistik)

For pedigree, please Apollo's or Falcon's pedigree  in the ads for their listings above.

Courage is pretty rare: a huge, leggy, purebred Morgan gelding who seems to be a palomino! Born May 3, 2014, this amazing colt is a full sibling to our lovely high-performance Morgans, Apollo, Falcon and Revelry (Indy). All our Morgans are of the old type, with excellent bone and good minds.  But "Curly" is the tallest yet, with substantial leg under him. He  is pictured here at just 10 days old. We are astonished by his size; if he continues to develop at this pace he will end up 16H.

All foals out of this cross are great movers, sweethearts, and excellent dressage and driving prospects.

$5,000 until weaned. Performance home preferred, but not required!

Spirit of Mosswood

Spirit is a 16.3H TB-Morgan cross by our stallion Declaration out of the TB mare Again Tanks Again. He events and enjoys foxhunting. Those who have met him say he is the kindest horse they have known. (Owner Rebecca L'Heureux up.)

SOLD

Glick's Onyx Firefly

(Bought to be a broodmare but wants to show!)

Firefly is a purebred, black Morgan filly standing 14.2H. She is an "old soul" who is exceptionally kind and loving. She will be perfect for either a competitor or a family with young kids. She is breeding sound but is too good to keep in the barn. Absolutely rock solid with perfect ground manners. (No custom-bred sibling available.)

Laurel of Mosswood (TB-Morgan cross)

Laurel is a terrifc competitor in eventing. She has a simple formula: win dressage and then blow away the competition in the jumping phases. She has great gaits and good mind.

SOLD (Left Photo: Brant Gamma Web Photo with owner Lara Hart; Below: Tracey Cover riding Laurel when Laurel was four years.)

Revelry (Indy) - Morgan Gelding

The golden cross: Declaration and Nora!! Indy is everything we try to breed for in our purebred Morgan program that relies on the legendary lines of the classic Morgan breed.

Bred by a client, Indy is by our stallion out of Nora. We liked him so much, we bought both him and the mare! (Full brother to Falcon and Apollo). SOLD

Mosswoods Meadow

Spitting image of Revelry, Meadow is a huge purebred, bay Morgan filly who has lovely gaits and a quiet mind. (15.3H).  Meadow and Revelry are by different dams but look nearly identical. As you can see, their sire stamps his foals very reliably. See picture of Meadow and Indy at play together below.   SOLD

Mosswoods Dawn

Dawn is a lovely chestnut filly by our stallion out of Macey (EMH As Good As It Gets). Dawn is a full sister to Willow (for sale above).

SOLD

(Here she is with her owner, who is not only bareback but riding in a bitless bridle!)

EMH As Good As It Gets  (Macey)

Our first broodmare, Macey is a purebred Morgan, 15.1H, who has produced two chestnut fillies by Declaration: Mosswood's Dawn and Mosswood's Willow.  She is beautiful, with excellent feet and bone.
